Commonly Asked Questions:
This is our first pageant. Are other kids experienced?
Most of our contestants are first time participants. Every contestant will have a practice before the competition begins to enhance their confidence level. Each contestant has the same amount of time on stage.
Is my age division going to be large?
Ages are broken down to keep the divisions small and to ensure that parents and contestants do not have to be at the competition facility all day. Each age group will have their own individual competition that day.
Do I need fancy or expensive clothing?
Not at all. The judges are looking at the participants, not their clothing. Most participants wear Christmas, East or Sunday Best clothing for 'Dressywear.' 'Sportywear' participants normally wear casual, seasonal clothing like shorts, skirts, and hip trendy outfits.
Do I need makeup?
Makeup should be 'age appropriate.' If you are a teen or adult participant, your makeup should be applied conservatively. For child participants, we do not recommend makeup.
Do the optional categories like 'advertising' or 'talent' help me?
These categories (listed on the back page of your congratulations brochure) are optional and do not have any effect on who will win the competition. However, these optionals can get your talent evaluated and any pictures of you placed with your advertising are also seen by the judges.
I am running a little behind on my entry, what do I do?
Call the competition office, we can help you. 412.820.0414.
Will I walk away from the competition feeling good?
Absolutely! Competitions are fun and a great way to build confidence, contacts and add to your experiences.
